Understanding why a brand does things differently is just as important as what it offers. In a world of fast fashion, high markups, and unsustainable inventory models, transparency has become the new luxury.

As a fully e-commerce, made-to-order brand, we realized that while our model offers superior quality, fair pricing, and ethical craftsmanship, many customers were still unfamiliar with what “made to order” truly meant. Questions around delivery timelines, pricing structure, and production methods created uncertainty, which risked eroding the very trust we were working to build.

To bridge this gap, we created a 2D animated explainer video that clearly and compellingly breaks down the traditional retail model and why it simply doesn’t work for people or the planet. Through seamless storytelling and engaging visuals, the video educates viewers on the hidden costs of mass retail while spotlighting the value of Beckett Simonon’s ethical and efficient made-to-order approach.

Rather than listing benefits, we chose to show them demonstrating the true cost of traditional markups, overproduction, and waste, and contrasting that with our commitment to craftsmanship, sustainability, and transparency. In doing so, the video not only clarified our value proposition, but also created a deeper emotional connection with our audience.

Outcome

The How Traditional Retail Works video became a cornerstone of our brand storytelling. Gathering over 30,000 views across YouTube and Social Media. It introduced Beckett Simonon to a wider audience while reinforcing our core identity as a brand that values purpose over profit.

More than just a marketing tool, the video became an educational content helping potential customers understand the "why" behind our wait times, pricing, and process. It strengthened confidence in their purchase decisions, reduced hesitation, and ultimately contributed to increased conversion rates and customer satisfaction.

This versatile format also allowed us to share it across multiple touch points: from our website and social media to ad campaigns and customer service replies, resulting in impactful and consistent brand messages.
